Igniting Feminine Genius
"Be who God made you to be and you will set the world on fire."Saint Catherine of Siena
Mentoring is a tool of empowerment which can help us to become what God created us to be. It is a mutually beneficial relationship which involves a more experienced person helping a less experienced person to reach their potential.
- Relationship and partnership-based
- Mutually enriching
- Supportive and encouraging
- Confidence building
- Based on mutual trust and respect
In Catholic Women’s Mentoring, women will be matched as Sisters in Christ with the intent of forming a companionship in which the two women will share resources, knowledge, networks and experiences, while encouraging each other in their faith journey.
The program is built around the needs of women and is relationship-based. Mentors are not expected to provide spiritual direction or coaching; it is about support, encouragement and bringing out the best in each other. Sometimes we need others to recognise our potential in order for us to see it for ourselves and mentoring is the perfect instrument to provide this opportunity.
About the Program
Catholic Women’s Mentoring Program is a new national initiative aimed at building the skills, confidence and networks of Australian Catholic women and encouraging them in their faith.
The program aims to empower women to use their gifts and talents to make meaningful and significant contributions to the Australian Church and increase their positive impact on Australian society.
God created women with unique gifts, talents and skills. The world needs the ‘feminine genius.’ Catholic women who are strong and affirmed in their faith and their capabilities can do amazing things to transform society. Faith-filled women, on fire with the Holy Spirit, can be the hands and feet of God through their lives.
Catholic women are invited to sign up online as a mentor or mentee. Mentors will be matched with a younger woman (mentee), according to their needs, whom they will encourage and support sharing their faith and life journey. While there are no age restrictions for mentors, it is expected that mentors will be able to share significant life experience with their mentee.
The program has an informal structure; it is up to the mentor and mentee to choose how they would like to connect and how often. The program is based on building companionship to encourage faith and confidence among Australian Catholic women.
All program participants must be over 18 years of age.
Meet a program participant
Catholic Women’s Mentoring welcomes Australian Catholic women over the age of 18 to join the program as a mentee or a mentor. While there are no age restrictions for mentors, it is expected that mentors would have significant life experience, to be able to share this with their mentee.
